Chemical Science in Japan,

Abstract

A month's tour of Japan was undertaken in the early autumn of 1972 for the purpose of surveying the current status of chemical science and technology. Universities, industrial laboratories, government installations and one private research foundation were visited to exchange information and to scrutinize chemistry research in these institutions. Emphasis was placed on organic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, and polymer science, but other chemical and related fields were also appraised. (Author)
