The Magnetic Field of a Single-Turn Solenoid Places Coaxially with a Cylinder or Near a Plane,

Abstract

An approximate calculation is made of the magnetic field (with a sharp surface effect) of a system of massive conductors: a single-turn solenoid-cylinder and a single-turn solenoid-plane separated by a gap. The calculations uses a method based on joining of the solutions obtained for two regions: the slot and the external region. The coordinate of the boundary of the regions is determined from the approximate formulas obtained for the inductance taking into account passage of part of the current outside the region of the gap.
