A Study of Standardization Methods for Digital Guidance and Control Systems.

Abstract

This report contains an investigation of the standardization of methods for digital guidance and control systmes, particularly with regard to data transmission techniques and high level programming languages. It includes discussion of the general problems and techniques, reports on the particular experiences of the individual nations, and concludes that, whilst much work remains to be done on software aspects, the field of data transmission may be amenable to early standardization. The annexes to the report contain full details of the techniques studied, and include comparisons of data transmission methods and high level languages. These comparisons are not intended as quantitative assessments but are designed to outline the relevant features of the different techniques.
