Inter-Relationships of Solar and Interplanetary Plasma, Magnetic Fields and Energetic Particles Relevant to the Prediction of Solar-Terrestrial Disturbances,

Abstract

A summary is presented of research from the past year's efforts supported under this contract. The research covered inter-related topics in solar-terrestrial relationships. It is recommended that the present dual approach of investigations of solar-terrestrial events both of the past solar cycle as well as contemporary observations be continued. Comparison of phenomena among different phases of the solar cycle have identified several inter-relationships useful in the development of prediction techniques for geomagnetic disturbances and solar energetic particle events.
