Infrared and Submillimeter Extinction by Fog.

Abstract

A thorough literature survey of fog drop-size distributions throughout the world is discussed, and data from 36 references are summarized. The review of an extensive list of over 100 references includes additional important information. Ranges of liquid water content and problems of relating this to visibility are examined. Changes in fog characteristics from place to place and from time to time are also considered, and the discussion includes small-scale spatial and temporal fluctuations.
