A Study of the Army Community Service (ACS) Program.

Abstract

This report addresses the Army Community Service (ACS) Program both current and revised. The revised program categorizes services as either essential or optional; integrates these services into a model program which can be tailored to meet the needs of any installation; and recommends and organization of both ACS staff and volunteer corps to include the duties of key personnel. Major differences in the revised program are the inclusion of child care services and the Army Child Advocacy Program into the ACS Program and the designation of the Financial Planning and Assistance Program as an essential as opposed to an optional program.
