Effects of High Pressure on Molecular Electronic Spectra: A Comparison of Models,

Abstract

The experimental tests by Okamoto and Drickamer of the Drickamer model of high-pressure effects on electronic spectra are reexamined. Correctly interpreted the data contradict the model. However, it is shown that a theory of Lin is compatible with the data and shows promise of practical application. (Author)
