Optimum Dynamic Design of Nonlinear Reinforced Concrete Slabs under Blast Loading.

Abstract

A computer program was developed to determine the nonlinear dynamic response of reinforced concrete slabs subjected to blast pressure loading. Given the explosive parameters and geometry of the slab, the program computes the blast environment and the structural resistance, mass, and stiffness of the slab and solves for the dynamic response. The program contains optimization subroutines that provide for automatic optimum design of least-cost structural slabs. The program will assist engineers in the design and analysis of facilities that are intended to contain the effects of accidental explosions. The report gives a user's guide and sample problems with data input and program output. (Author)
