A Proposed Set of Standard Conventions for Specifying the Orientation of Underwater Sound Devices,

Abstract

A set of standard conventions for specifying orientations used in making underwater sound measurements on sonar gear is proposed. The method is now in use at the USRL in data reporting within the Laboratory and in USRL publications. Advantages claimed are simplicity and universal applicability. (Author)
