Aeronomy of the Stratosphere and Mesosphere.

Abstract

Previous research results summarized in Ice Particulates in the Mesosphere, by E. T. Chasworth and L. C. Hale, published in Geophysical Research Letters, 1-8 Dec 74, led to the conclusion that the mesosphere contains a high density of very small particulates which normally dominate ionization loss processes. This idea has now been extended to encompass the transport of particulate and their role in coupling processes between the upper and lower atmosphere. This report consists of a resume of the research performed, a manuscript of a paper summarizing important scientific findings, a list of publications and a list of scientific personnel. (Author)
