A Closed Form Expression for Line-of-Sight Probability

Abstract

This report examines expressions for line-of-sight probability as a function of observer altitude H and observer target range R. The result for a somewhat rough terrain classification is P sub LOS = 1 exp -(97.59267)H to the power 0.689606/R and the result for a smooth table-top terrain classification is sub P sub LOS = 1 exp -(770.748)H to the power 0.6092/R.
