A Review of the Mission Success of Communications Satellites and Related Spacecraft.

Abstract

The mission successes of a number of satellites designed for long operational lifetimes are presented. Based on this compilation, a number of statistical correlations are made in an attempt to determine those attributes of a program which, if emphasized during the program design development phase, will maximize the probability of mission success. Mission success, as used here, is the attainment of long operational life for each satellite. (Author)
