The Inventory System Simulator, (INSSIM). Volume I. Model Description.

Abstract

This report describes the features of the Inventory System Simulator (INSSIM), a FORTRAN-based simulation model of a general single-location inventory system. The model was specifically designed to evaluate alternate forecasting and inventory management policies proposed for use in the EOQ Buy Computation System (D062). Volume I of this report describes the philosophy, organization, and input/output features of INSSIM. Volume II documents the Fortran statement listings of each INSSIM program, and provides narratives describing the functions of each routine. (Author)
