A Microprocessor Controlled Automatic Data Logging System (ADL).
Abstract
This paper describes a digital, microprocessor controlled data acquisition system which optimizes man/machine communications. The processor provides digital feedback control, data collection over any number of channels (up to 8), 32 BIT floating point (7 significant digit) mathematics, and a variety of output formats. The main features of the device are the ability to work in any numerical unit desired by the user, mathematical noise filtering and automatic feedback control. The particular application under consideration is automatic data collection and angle-of-attack control of a subsonic wind-tunnel. Data are presented to demonstrate the data logging capabilities of the system. (Author)
