Conceptual Design for the Army in the Field (CONAF). Phase I. Volume II - Methodology.

Abstract

This volume contains a description of the methodology developed and employed for the CONAF phase I study. This volume consists of three chapters. (1) Overall Methodolgy--presents the introductory information, background, and a detailed description of the overall methodology. (2) Cost and Resource Analysis methodology--this chapter describes the methodology used; first in a cost comparison of initial and operating costs for forces and force package (European Based, European Reinforcing, Strategic Reserve, and Pacific); second, the annual resource requirement with appropriate schedules within annual constraints (Cost and Resource Analysis Methodology was developed by the USACDC Systems Analysis Group (SAGP)). (3) Theater Force Evaluation System for CONAF--this chapter briefly describes the Theater Force Evaluation System for CONAF, its current capabilities and limitations, and programmed refinements.
