Detection of Targets in Noise and Clutter

Abstract

We have calculated the probability of detecting either a Swerling-1 or Swerling-2 target immersed in both Rayleigh noise and log-normally distributed clutter. Results are presented which indicate the effect on detection of the number of pulses integrated, signal-to-noise ratio and the noise-to-clutter ratio.
