Inter-American Security and US Military Policy

Abstract

This paper examines current US defense interests and defense policy and trends for Latin America and offers a critique of the applicability of policies and programs to interests and threats. It offers recommendations for the future with respect to bilateral policies and relationships with international agencies. It has a US policy focus and touches on the security problems and concerns of other hemispheric rations only as they impact on US strategic policy.
