Probabilistic Test Planning.

Abstract

A study was conducted to evaluate the failure probabilities for the tunnels to be tested in DIABLO HAWK. The results indicate that 5-6 tunnels will be severely damaged, and the test can be improved upon by the addition of one more cylinder. The effects of correlation (among the various structures, concrete, etc.) was simulated computationally using a Monte Carlo procedure. Details of the simulation procedures and the decision theory used are contained in the main text. (Author)
