Including Fleet Usage Variability in Reliability Analyses for Both Safety and Economic Limit

Abstract

Reliability tools have been developed which are capable of determining the probability of failing a given aircraft or the first aircraft in a fleet as a function of time, loading, and inspections. These methods, developed for the entire fleet, can easily be extended to include variations in usage across the fleet and to address the concept of economic life.
