Measurement of the Spatial Correlation Function of an HF Wave after Passage through the Ionosphere.

Abstract

Experimental equipment was designed, built, and used in an experiment for the purposes of acquiring data, performing analyses, testing algorithms, and evaluating system characteristics for measurement of the spatial correlation function of the phase of an HF wave after passage through the ionosphere. For the test, 8 phase-synchronized receivers were designed and built, distributed randomly over a 40-kilometer baseline, and used to receive HF signals from a transmitting site some 2500 kilometers distant. Raw data in excess of 10 to the 8th power bits were collected. (Author)
