A Proposed Course for Avionics Technicians.

Abstract

One of a series of three reports examining personnel and training support for advanced avionics systems, this report describes an initial training course which would better prepare airmen to maintain avionics equipment on the flight line. The course is significantly different from the current training course. It is given by and at a Field Training Detachment at the air base to which an airman is assigned; training is on the specific avionics equipment to be maintained; only material relevant to actual tasks is given; and the importance of a 'block diagram' understanding of the avionics system (as opposed to a basic electronics understanding) is emphasized.
