Penetration of High Explosives by Inert Projectiles.

Abstract

A series of two-dimensional calculations has been carried out for the penetration of the high explosives PBX-9404 and Composition B by steel spheres. Equations-of-state and reaction-rate models are presented which, when used in the two-dimensional HELP code, result in good agreement with the observed velocity-loss data and detonation thresholds.
