The Noise Rejection, Tracking Lags, and Transient Decay for Exponential Tracking Filters of Order, One, Two and Three.

Abstract

Basic equations are derived for the third order, sampled data, exponential tracking filter. Lags, transient decay and noise rejection are calculated for critical and optimal damping. Graphs and tables are provided for design purposes. The third order continuous data (analogue) tracking filter is also analysed, and equivalence relations are derived. (Author)
