Reduction of a Large Polynomial Matrix to Smith-Normal-Form by Unimodular Block-Partitioning Transformation,
Abstract
A block-partitioning scheme based on unimodular transformations is suggested for the reduction of a large polynomial matrix to Smith Normal Form. This technique when implemented with the finite field computational procedure will be useful for the direct spectral factorization of the rational polynomial matrix arising in the solution of the Wiener-Hopf integral equation for the design of optimal filters for random processes.
