Inelastic Collisions of Excited Atoms.

Abstract

The interaction of metastable rare gas atoms with ground state atoms is being investigated in the energy range from several eV to several keV. Emphasis is on collisional ionization and collisional excitation transfer. Additional work examines the details of the charge transfer reaction used to produce the fast metastable beams. (Author)
