Passive Device Failure Rate Models for Military Handbook 217B.

Abstract

This study revised and updated the appropriate sections of Military Handbook 217B, Reliability Prediction of Electronic Equipment, pertaining to resistors, capacitors, and inductive devices. In addition to updating the existing sections in the Handbook, 15 part specifications were added. More than 335 billion part-hours of field operating data were collected and analyzed during the study effort. Significant revisions were made to base failure rates, environmental factors, and some quality factors. Other changes included the addition of a capacitance factor to the capacitor section. (Author)
