Practical Methods for the Compensation and Control of Multivariable Systems.

Abstract

New techniques are developed for achieving a maximum number of zero entries in the closed loop transfer matrices of left invertible, linear multivariable systems through the employment of linear state variable feedback in conjunction with input dynamic compensation. Necessary and sufficient conditions are also presented for obtaining desired noninteractive structures for this class of systems. The question of simultaneous stabilization of the decoupled structures is also fully resolved. The procedures employed provide new insight regarding some related disturbance rejection questions. Numerous examples are presented in order to illustrate and clarify the presentation. (Author)
