Stability of Two Dimensional Initial Boundary Value Problems using Leap-Frog Type Schemes.

Abstract

The linear stability of a Leap-Frog and a Modified Leap-Frog scheme for two dimensional hyperbolic initial boundary value problems is investigated. Different stable boundary treatments are presented for each case. In one case, the boundary condition is found to further restrict the Cauchy stability condition. A 2x2 2-D system is also considered and a stable boundary treatment is presented. (Author)
