An Annotated Bibliography on Morphology of Design with Inclusion of Human Factors.

Abstract

This annotated bibliography represents a limited review of the literature describing the design decision structure as it relates to the development of aerospace systems and identifies the human resource factors relevant to the design structure. This information is intended to help develop the relevant areas of human resources and metrics in the context of the decision structure already identified for the design of high technology systems. Three basic points emerge from this literature search. First, both the engineering design and human factor literature voice strong agreement on the need for the integration of human resource factors into the system design process. Secondly, the human resource factors data currently available generally lack standardization and clarity for the design world. Finally, there appears to exist an urgent need for an inter-disciplinary data base, describing and quantifying the human resource factors essential to system design. (Author)
