Cruise Data Report. R/V ATLANTIS II 93, Legs 5 and 6, Central Indian Ocean Triple-Junction.

Abstract

The central Indian triple-junction was surveyed with eleven thousand kilometers of bathymetric, magnetic field, and gravity profiles. Seven thousand kilometers of seismic reflection profiles were made using primarily a 40 cu. in. air gun. Sixteen dredges, three gravity cores and one hydrocast were made. Positions of the ship were determined primarily by satellite navigation. The underway data are plotted on a series of Mercator charts and as a composite profile plot. Compilation sheets of the bathymetry, magnetic anomaly and free air gravity for the survey area are presented.
