Security Assistance Repair Part Support. Volume I. Main Paper.
Abstract
Weapon systems in the international logistics (IL) community have increased so much that DA questioned the US ability to provide repair part support without diminishing US readiness. This study answers that question by analyzing US industrial base capabilities and the IL repair part program. It also evaluates methods of projecting military hardware system supportability. Three major conclusions are made: US industrial capability is adequate, IL repair part program management must be improved to cure problems in repair part support, and there are unexploited methods for looking ahead at military hardware system supportability. Comprehensive recommendations for improvements are made. (Author)
