Abstract

This report summarizes a meeting in which over 300 scientists from Europe, United States, and several other countries interchanged current information regarding clinical and laboratory experience in hematology. The presentations concerned regulatory mechanisms behind cell proliferation and functional aspects of mature cells. Applications of these basic science principles to treatment of hematologic disorders in human and animal models were described.
