A Neuropsychological Basis for Drug Substitution.

Abstract

Attempts to block withdrawal seizures, in animals addicted to barbiturates, with meprobamate, librium, chloral hydrate, l-dopa, and various combinations of these drugs were without success. The reasons for the failure of these drugs to block withdrawal symptoms were discussed. (Author)
