An Experimental Study of Planing Surfaces Operating in Shallow Water

Abstract

The results of hydrodynamic model tests of prismatic planing surfaces operating in shallow water are presented. Empirical analysis is shown resulting in predictions of lift, resistance and pitch moment for a 10 and 20 degree deadrise surface.
