Gun Firing Shock and Road Vibration, M60A1 (p1) Tank Thermal Sight (TTS) AN/VSG-2 Prototype Qualification

Abstract

The tank thermal sight (TTS) vastly improves night target acquisition and identification under normal and adverse atmospheric conditions. The incorporation of the tank thermal sight into the M60A1 Weapon systems, requires the establishment of a baseline level for gun firing shock, hard surface/cross country road vibration. These levels are required to determine the design adequacy of the components and mounting bracketry used in the TTS system.
