The Interaction of Electromagnetic Radiation with Solid Materials.

Abstract

Theoretical research has been completed in four areas of study and analysis of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with solids: Surface and Size Effects on the Excitation Spectra of Solids, and on the Interaction of Electromagnetic Radiation with Crystals from Microwave through Visible Frequencies; Surface Wave Propagation at Microwave Frequencies; Rayleigh Waves (Surface Acoustic Waves); Theory of Wave Propagation on Nonplanar Surfaces; Edge Modes, Rounded Corners and Topographic Waveguides; and Optical Interactions in Impure and Disordered Solids.
