LO-MIX Maintenance Engineering Analysis Technique,

Abstract

ARINC Research Corporation developed a technique for performing Maintenance Engineering Analyses (MEA) on units of the LO-MIX class of ships. Less costly and time-consuming than the procedures of Military Standard MIL-M-24365A, it permits rapid identification of maintenance engineering requirements. This report presents the conditions and events that created the need for the new technique, identifies the initial requirements and assumptions made prior to development of the technique, and outlines the various MEA methods considered in selecting the basic approach. It also provides details of applying the technique and describes a feasibility demonstration of the technique conducted as part of the contract. (Author)
