Parametric and Nonlinear Mode Interaction Behaviour in the Dynamics of Structures.

Abstract

The report is concerned with the resonant behaviour of general structural systems under single frequency harmonic excitation. In particular it is concerned with the parametric and nonlinear phenomena which arise when there are certain integral relationships between the excitation frequency and some of the natural frequencies of the structure (external resonance), and amongst the natural frequencies themselves (interval resonance).
