Instrumentation Development of an Airborne Recording System.

Abstract

A Methodology Investigation of an airborne recording system was conducted at US Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG), Arizona, from November 1976 through December 1977. This new system has been developed by the Air Delivery Engineering Branch at YPG for recording and processing accelerometer vibration spectral data in support of materiel air transportability and air delivery testing missions. The new data processing is based on a programmable calculator and suitable peripheral equipment. Accelerometer time histories from an analog recorder are digitized and processed on the programmable calculator system. Software provides for Fast Fourier computation of Power Spectal Density functions, acceleration and double amplitude displacement curves. The computed functions are displayed on an impact line printer for report mat printing. Hardware and software implementation of the new instrumentation system are described. (Author)
