Chesapeake Bay Future Conditions Report. Volume II. Study Coordination, Public Participation.

Abstract

The subject of this particular volume is the Chesapeake Bay Study process and as such focuses on the history of the study, the study organization, and the manner in which the study was coordinated among the many Federal, State, and local agencies that are interested in water resources development in the Bay Region. In addition, it includes a discussion of the role that public participation and information has played in the Chesapeake Bay Study. The various elements of the 'public' are defined and a description of the many users of the Bay is provided. Also included is a discussion of those public participation and information activities which have been conducted thus far in the Chesapeake Bay Study Program. Finally, those public involvement activities required to achieve an effective water-land management program for the Bay are analyzed in the last chapter of this appendix.
