Abstract

The objective of this meeting, held at the Flying Training Division, Air Force Human Resources Laboratory, was to identify simulator training requirements and to determine the availability of research facilities and personnel to use in studies of the training effectiveness of simulator motion and visual systems. The meeting consisted of two sessions. During the first session attendees were divided into four groups which studied: (a) capabilities and characteristics of simulators; (b) simulator requirements for flying training; (c) measurement of simulator training effectiveness; and (d) management and utilization of simulators. During the second session the findings of the study groups were summarized and discussed in a general meeting of all attendees.
