Reliability Prediction, Assessment and Growth

Abstract

This report provides a detailed methodology which represents an improved method to evaluate the reliability aspects of product improvement proposals, to determine the relationship between inherent and operational reliability, to establish the initial reliability of newly developed helicopter systems and to control and grow reliability during production. Incorporated in the report is a detailed procedure outlining the application of the methodology to assess and control post production reliability growth. Implementation of the procedure is supported by a gross data base compiled during the study and the presentation of a detailed plan for the development of a helicopter reliability data repository and analysis center.
