Real-Time Simulation of Tactical-Target Behavior with Interactive Tracking.

Abstract

This Technical Memorandum describes a set of computer programs used to demonstrate the feasibility of uisng computer controlled interactive graphics to study gunner tracking and firing performance against a tactically-behaving target. Using computer-generated imagery, a real-time simulated view of a moving target is presented to the gunner. Through the use of control handles and switches, he acquires, tracks and engages the target as it traverses a simulated terrain area. Gunner tracking and firing performance data is collected in real-time for later reduction and analysis. (Author)
