Storage Reliability of Missile Materiel Program. Storage Reliability Summary Report. Volume III. Hydraulic and Pneumatic Devices

Abstract

This summary documents findings on the non-operating reliability of valves, accumulators, actuators, pumps, cylinders, compressors, filters, gaskets and seals, bearings and regulators. The failure rates for each of the parts are given with one sided 90% confidence limits calculated. Elements of design are reviewed and predominant failure modes and mechanisms are discussed. This information is part of a research program being conducted by the U.S. Army Missile R and D Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
