Effectiveness of Building Insulation Applications.

Abstract

Conduction heat transfer was measured through ten fiberglass insulated wall and ceiling test panels. Three with R-7, R-11, and R-19 (Ceiling) insulation were reference panels. Seven panels with voids, overlaps, and fixtures were compared to the reference panels. Only the void showed marked increase in conduction loss. Work was performed under Phase I of the contract. Evaluation of the same panels for convection loss is being contemplated. (Author)
