Evaluation of Navy Driver Training Multimedia System (NDTMS) Course.

Abstract

An assessment was made of the instructional effectiveness of the Navy Driver Training Multimedia System (NDTMS), a hardware/software package which teaches traffic safety to Navy personnel. Presentation is made through the alternating of motion picture and slide sequences. The Navy teaches eight out ot ten possible instructional sessions and the test. Recruits were given questionnaires after each session which asked for their opinion of the presentation. An additional (experimental) group of 61 recruits was given a course test as a pre-test. They were then provided the instruction and were retested with the identical course test. A third (control) group of 30 recruits were given the pre-test and post-test without intervening instruction. Responses to questions posed during each session were also collected from the experimental group.
