Processor Aided Fire Detector.

Abstract

A prototype multi-level blower assisted fire detection system has been developed. Specific principles of detection are adaptable to the detector housing depending on a particular need. The multi-level blower assisted feature increases the sensitivity above commercially available detectors. To reduce false alarms (especially during changing environmental conditions such as would be encountered with shipboard applications) a signal processor in the form of chip logic has been designed and adapted to the detector. The prototype system has been subjected to variety of small scale fire situations while being compared to other fire detectors. (Author)
