Chromatography Simulation.

Abstract

A unique system has been developed for the digital simulation of chromatographic processes. This system is based on a probabilistic approach to the discrete events of adsorption and desorption rather than using a continuous solution of the differential equations used to describe the rates of adsorption and desorption. The simulation system has been developed using a threaded code technique of programming which allows the user to interact with the high speed, microcoded internal portions of the system through a very high level specific language. The utility of the system for studying both linear and non-linear chromatographic processes is demonstrated. (Author)
