Training Users of Information Systems: Some Suggestions,

Abstract

This paper was written in response to a request from the STINFO Division, Army Research Office, for suggestions regarding the training of users of Technical Information Centers, Technical Information and Analysis Centers, and any systems which might exist for the purpose of providing communication between Centers. It was concluded that all Center users should have a general understanding of how the Center processes information queries about information; a specific effort should be made to ensure that users do know how to obtain and to use the products and serives of the Center; information centers and systems should be so designed that they are easily usable by, and immediately acceptable to, the user.
