Laser Hazards: Biomedical Threshold Level Investigations.

Abstract

The review of current research data and areas requiring future investigation delineates project areas of prime interest. Through research, laser safety standards have been developed. Current studies are fulfilling the immediate requirements associated with the test, development, and deployment of new laser devices. The establishment of various biological and functional criteria, which accurately reflect the changes associated with laser irradiation of the eye and skin, continues to provide valuable information on current and proposed safety standards.
